If you have magazines, news or sports like blogs, then you don’t need to hide the date snippet from search results because the dates filter the recent stories and breaking news. If you look on my blog (), you will see the tutorials of ‘how to’ guides and WordPress. These tutorials are evergreen content, but if I show the date snippet to the search engines, I will get the higher CTR in the first two to three months from the published post and later it going down due to the older date. There, the blogs have evergreen content such as how-to tips, tips-and-tricks and tutorials, should remove the date snippet from their description.

Remove Date from Google Search Results for Genesis WordPress Themes
If your . Follow the below steps.
Go to WordPress Dashboard » Appearances » Editor, and select Themes Functions (functions.php). Paste the following code to your functions.php file.
/** Remove the post info function */ remove_action( 'genesis_before_post_content', 'genesis_post_info' );
If you are using Generate theme or any other themes, and see the following code in your functions.php file.
remove_action( 'genesis_before_post_content', 'genesis_post_info' ); add_action( 'genesis_before_post_title', 'genesis_post_info' );
Then, just remove the following code into the above code to hide the date info from Google search.
add_action( 'genesis_before_post_title', 'genesis_post_info' );
The process will complete delete the post date information form Google search engine.
How to Remove Date Snippet of any WordPress Blog in Google Search.
Here I am using a plugin to remove the date from search engine. This plugin is easy to use with extra functionality. Using this plugin, you have an option to remove the date information after a specified number of days or immediately. You may also turn off the date information from category, tag or home pages.

- Once you have activated this plugin, go to Settings » Date Exclusion Seo, and configure the settings.
Finally click on Save Changes.
Once you have done the steps correctly, go to the Google rich snippet tool to view the preview of your posts snippet. It will confirm you have done the steps correctly.
